Unnat Bharat Abhiyan
The Vidyasagar University has adopted the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan program initiated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India
About the Program :
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India.The Mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. It also aims to create a virtuous cycle between society and an inclusive academic system by providing knowledge and practices for emerging professions and to upgrade the capabilities of both the public and the private sectors in responding to the development needs of rural India.
The main Aim of the Program :
Vidyasagar University aims to make the overall development of the adopted villages through the discrimination of knowledge and training. It is designed to cater the needs of rural development and making villagers self-reliant through knowledge and practice.
Goals :
- Encourage the literacy of the adult women villagers.
- Economical development of the villagers
- Promote cultural development
- Encourage digital literacy training for all villagers
- Awareness training program for community health and sanitation
- Training and awareness about self employment and entrepreneurship development.
Adopted Villages :
We have already begun the process of adopting five villages around our University. The names of the villages are –
- (a) Muradanga; Block–Mankabati Gram Panchayat
- (b) Kuturia; Block–Kankabati Gram Panchayat
- (c) Khairullachak West; Block – 4 No. Kankabati Gram Panchayat
- (d) Khairulachak East; Block – 4 No. Kankabati Gram Panchayat
- (e) Gopegarh East; Block – Kankabati Gram Panchayat
