Services
(a) Computational and Research Facilities:
The Computer Centre has computational and Research Oriented Software, Hardware and having 24 hours internet services,
offered these facilities to Research Scholar, Faculty members and PG students of the University through Enrolment. A large number of users under this
category are enrolled and uses these services. New enrolment initiatives are being taken to enhance the enrolment.
(b) Internet and Other LAN Services:
The Computer centre is also looking after the total internet services provided to each and every dept. through the new program under this project NME-ICT launched in the XI plan by MHRD & State Government.
The new 1 GBPS (1000 MBPS) Leased Line has already been commissioned from November, 2010.
The University has also obtained a 2 MBPS backup Internet Connectivity (Broadband) from BSNL during 2006-2007 to enhance the Quality of Service throughout the Campus even during peak working hours.
The total number of computer having Internet and LAN connectivity has been increased to 900 at present.
All these Internet users are able to access all the subscribed e-Journals (full text) under e-Journal Consortia of Inflibnet.
(c) CAMPUS LAN & its Maintenance:
Computer Centre is also maintaining the Optical Fiber based Gigabit Campus-wide Local Area Network.
The smooth and planned maintenance of the Campus LAN has resulted in 0 hours downtime of the LAN.
Users get uninterrupted services throughout the year.
The total number of Computers interconnected in LAN is 900 at present. The total number of users is approximately 3000 now.
(d) Practical facilities to PG Students:
Many departments are not having enough computer infrastructures but have computer syllabus in their course curricula. Computer Centre provides the computer practical facilities’ to them as per their course curricula like Computer Science, MCA, Commerce, Economics, Electronics, Microbiology, Zoology etc. To enhance the facility a new computing lab is being proposed.
(e) Practical exam centre for various S/W & H/W related examinations under UG & PG courses are held at Computer Centre.
(f) University is deploying UG Online admission for UG Courses in all affiliated Colleges through Computer Centre under the leadership of the present Vice-Chancellor.
(g) Computerized Central selection & counseling system for B.Ed admission to 25 affiliated B.Ed colleges is being done by Computer Centre.
