Department Profile

Post Graduate Department of Hindi, Vidyasagar University was set up during the session 2011-12 to facilitate the students who want to make their career Hindi Language & Literature and also to promote Hindi as a National Language to strengthen the National Unity & Integrity. Number of students are increasing day by day. The department has started with some Guest Teachers. But now three full time teachers have joined the Deptt. in 2012 & a post of Associate Professor in Hindi is yet to be filled in. Now four Guest teachers are also working in the Department.

The department was started with Post Graduate course students in Hindi.Now the department has been enriched with Ph.Dprogramme in 2014. The Department has a library of its own . The deptt. has a wall magazine… having the provision to publish the articles/creative writings of students specially.

Special Lectures are also being arranged from time to time by the invited eminent Resourse persons of different Universities under UGC merged scheme.

Seminars and workshops are also being organized by the Department in a regular interval. A research Journal –‘ Vidyasagar Vartika’ (yearly) is going to be published from 2014.
