Campus LAN and Internet Infrastructure
The University has campus wide LAN infrastructures with high speed state of the art redundant set of switching devices and fiber based Gigabit backbone to improve the availability, stability, speed and overall performance of the LAN and internet facilities. Presently, all the services are being provided with the new upgraded setup and all the departmental users have been given direct connectivity for high speed internet access. The whole setup is running 24 hours including holidays.
The campus LAN backbone is handling multiple traffic which include Data, Voice, Video for providing network services to IP based CCTV, EPBX System (Video & Voice), e-Enhanced Classrooms, Digital Signage, Smart Biometric Attendance System, Wi-Fi Services etc.
For security and safety of the campus wide LAN setup the network backbone is equipped with high end Router (MX80-Juniper), Redundant set of Fortigate firewall, forti-analyser 200D etc.
To protect the campus from external threat, viruses, spam etc. Antivirus Server (Trend Micro, Quick Heal etc.) has been installed for all the client computers throughout the campus in a centralized control system.
The University has a 1 GBPS internet connectivity terminated at computer centre under NME-ICT & NKN project.
The University is also obtaining another redundant link of 100 MBPS Connectivity.
To improve availability, stability, speed and overall performance of the LAN and internet facilities, University
has upgraded (cost approx. 3.25 crores) the complete lan and wi-fi infrastructure with the new next generation netork and wi-fi devices which includes renowned products (Firewall Security Devices, Switches, Wi-Fi controllers, Indoor and Outdoor APs etc. including complete software licensing).
