USIC User Guidelines
USIC is committed to provide the best possible experience while ensuring the safety and integrity of the equipment and research environment. To facilitate this, user must obey the following guidelines.
Training and Qualification: Before operating any equipment, users must undergo appropriate training and demonstrate proficiency in its operation. This ensures the safety of both the user and the equipment itself.
Booking System: To maintain fair access to the instruments, users are required to book equipment in advance. Booking beyond office hour requires prior approval of the Director of USIC. Faculty members and registered research scholars of the University are entitled to book the slot for use of the concern instrument.
Usage Etiquette: Respect your fellow users by adhering to your scheduled time slots and promptly vacating equipment once your session is complete. Clean up any messes and return items to their designated places.
Safety Protocols: Safety is the top priority of USIC. Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures, use personal protective equipment when necessary, and report any safety concerns immediately to the designated personnel.
Instrument Care: Treat the equipment with care and respect. Follow proper operating procedures and avoid actions that could potentially damage or compromise with the functionality of the instruments.
Data Management: Practice responsible data management by regularly backing up your data and adhering to any relevant data storage policies. Respect the confidentiality of others' data.
Collaboration and Communication: Foster a collaborative and supportive research environment by engaging in open communication with fellow users and center’s staff. Share knowledge and resources to enhance the collective research endeavor.
