Next Generation Telephone Exchange of BSNL
Vidyasagar University in collaboration with BSNL has setup the modern, state-of-the-art Next Generation Telephone Exchange inside
the Vidyasagar University Campus to raise the communication infrastructure to the highest level. This is the 2nd Exchange of its type
in west Bengal after Siliguri and first in a University where this NGN BSNL exchange is installed. Now that BSNL has marked their footprint
inside campus with REDUNDANT PATH resulting in 100% uptime in the communication system. The exchange is FTTH (Direct fiber to Home/Table)
IP based system capable of extending any number of Data(Broadband), Voice and video connectivity simultaneously. This will also enhance
the communication infrastructure in the western part of the district.
The University is extending direct dial in facility with 4 digit group calling to all the faculty members, residential complexes, Academic,
Administrative departments, Students Hostels.
The exchange has been inaugurated on 9th April, 2018 by Prof. Ranjan Chakrabarti, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor. Shri Shyam Narain,
The Chief General Manager of BSNL was present as special guest.
