Departmental Activities
Workshops
Till date, the department has organized four (4) Workshops on Research Methodology. In 2015, the Research Methodology Workshop was of two weeks' duration. Two workshops were organized on (a) practical issues of online trading in collaboration with Centre for excellence in financial markets in 2016-17 and (b) Goods and Service Tax in collaboration with Institute of Computer Accountant in 2017-18.
Seminars / Conferences organized
The department has organized twenty one (21) conferences every year since 1996-97. ICRIF -2018 is the fifth International Conference of the department. See list of Seminars / Conferences Organized by the Department
Departmental Journal
The department has been regularly publishing a refereed, indexed annual journal, Vidyasagar University Journal of Commerce (ISSN 0973-5917) since 1996. The journal is indexed with EBSCO and CiteFactor. The twenty second volume of the journal is due to be released in March, 2017. Academic activities of the Faculty Members during the last five years:
- Publications in refereed journals/edited books: More than 125 papers were published by the faculty members. The publishers include Palgrave Macmillan, Springer, Sage, XIMB, Emerld, IIM Calcutta, Finance India, IIM Sillong, IIM Kozikode, and Macmillan.
- Research papers presented in Seminars/Conferences: More than 150 papers were presented in International/National/State level/Regional Seminars by the faculty members.
- Ph.D degrees awarded: Since inception, more than thirty research scholars have already been awarded their doctoral degree.
- Research projects: Eleven (11) sponsored research projects have been awarded to the faculty members till date
