Dr. Soumyabrata Banerjee
Assistant Professor
Biographical Sketch
Dr. Soumyabrata Banerjee obtained his Ph.D. (Sc.) in Physiology from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India (2017). He did his first Postdoc research from the Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India (2017-2020), and next Postdoc research in the Central Michigan University, USA (2020-2022). During his stay in abroad he has received two prestigious international research awards [YIEE of American Society for Neurochemistry (ASN) and TPDA of Society for Neuroscience (SfN)]. He returned back to India to join Amity University, NOIDA, UP, India as an Assistant Professor in Amity Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (2022), and then he joined Vidyasagar University in the same year (2022) as an Assistant professor in Human Physiology. He is the coordinator of Neurophysiology special in Human Physiology. He is the Editorial board member of Frontiers in Molecular Biosciences, Frontiers in Cellular Neurosciences, and Indian Journal of Physiology and Allied Sciences. He has received many International and National awards so far. Dr. Banerjee has published a book, many book chapters, review articles, and original research articles in different reputed International peer reviewed scientific journals. He has delivered many invited talks in different occasions in different institutes/ organizations. He is member of different academic and administrative bodies of this University.
Academic Interest
Geriatric Neuroscience (including neurodegeneration, cognitive function in aging brain and therapeutics), Micronutritional Neuroscience, Mood Behaviour are the primary research interest of Banerjee Lab.
