Vidyasagar University Incubation Centre

Vidyasagar University is one of the most forward looking and innovative educational institution in West Bengal, is proud to establish an incubation centre to enable its students to get first-hand experience in entrepreneurship, promote innovation driven activities at the institute and provide comprehensive support including space, mentoring, training programs, networking and an array of other benefits.

The centre promotes innovative and executable ideas from various disciplines of Science, Social Science, Management, etc. and encourage students to execute the ideas into products, processes or services for the benefits of society as well as industry.

Entrepreneurship forms the backbone of the nation’s economy and in order to strengthen entrepreneurship ecosystem, Incubation Centre is working on promoting the ideology and culture of starting own ventures amongst the students of different disciplines within the University and also for the other aspiring youths. To assist the youth to become self-employed and create employment opportunities, the Incubation Centre of the University has come forward to provide support in every possible manner. The University has set up the Incubation centre to become the hub of innovation and high impact ventures in social, educational, commercial and other allied fields.

Mission

Giving opportunity to prospective students to bring out innovative ideas through competitions and brainstorming. Exploring innovative and creative thoughts, ideas, or concepts from students, research scholars, faculty members from various domains of society as well as industry.

To develop and provide a platform for the creative aspirants, where their innovative ideas and concepts will be incubated and realized.

To incubate, culture, and refine the ideas or concepts with a support from technical as well as creative experts of the concerned fields.

Creating awareness among students and other sections of society regarding various aspects of entrepreneurship like new business prospects, government schemes for entrepreneurs, essentials for framing business plan and developing start-up, etc.

Nurturing the idea and giving it a shape of a sustainable venture i.e. assisting from the stage of project identification to project implementation. Providing guidance and assistance in all areas like operations, technical, finance, marketing, economics etc.

Acting as a support system by providing all sorts of assistance like infrastructure, technical expertise, market linkage, networking etc.

Support Available

Incubation centre helps the prospective entrepreneurs by solving some of the problems commonly associated with running a start-up. This is carried out by providing them a few basic needs. Some of the most common services will be provided by the Incubation centre are:

• Connections to higher education resources
• Comprehensive business training programs

 

Selection Process

1. Submit an e-application form to incubationcentre@mail.vidyasagar.ac.in. 
2. Screening by the Working Committee (Proposals are examined with attention to financial, technical and social impact parameters)
3. Final approval by Incubation Advisory Committee
4. Incubation support will be offered for 1 year
