Biographical Sketch
Dr. Uttam Kumar Mondal received the B.E. and M.Tech. degrees in Information Technology from the University of Calcutta, India, in 2004 and 2006, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Kalyani in 2016. He has around 19 years of teaching and research experience, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Vidyasagar University. His research interests include audio IPR, digital audio processing, wireless acoustic sensor networks, IoT, and deep learning. He has published more than 60 research papers across international journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings, along with several utility and design patents. A four-time recipient of Vidyasagar University's Research and Publication Award, he also actively serves as an invited speaker and convener for workshops and seminars.
Academic Interest
His research interests include audio Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and signal authentication, digital audio processing and lossless CODECs, deep learning-based audio compression techniques, wireless acoustic sensor networks (WASN), Internet of Things (IoT) security and data processing, TinyML-driven acoustic event detection, and AI-enabled acoustic profiling.
